Oh, Hello!

So I’ve always had plans to write. It seems that it was always something I enjoyed doing even at an early age. Why have I only done this now? Well, I have, before, if you consider setting up a site and never putting anything else aside from 1 intro entry… pretty much similar to what I’m making right now LOL Oh what I’d give for some drop of confidence other people have. I never had the lack of outside motivation, my boyfriend being my main supporter, the inside motivation was the struggle I had to find. But… Here I am!

I would say I think about writing all the time, too much sometimes, and have been jumping on what to write because a lot of things seem to interest me. So, I’ve decided to write to my heart’s content and to share the simplest of musings I come across. I do have to warn you that it can get random since my curiosity and happiness buttons are easily roused!

Now that I’ve broken the glass case, I’ll start by telling you a little about myself 🙂

I’m Katrina, I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. Typical in a middle-class family in our country, I grew up in a very modest household, my dad had to raise 3 smart Alecks by himself (with lots of help) while my mom went abroad to work. It was very simple and we were happy, playing in the rain and doing homework under candlelight (Xenial much?).

I’ve always described myself as The Outgoing Introvert, I enjoy occasionally meeting new people and going out dancing but it does exhaust me sometimes so I’d most often than not prefer watching a movie or cooking at home. I love sporty things, the outdoors, especially the ocean where my ashes will scatter when my life has reached its end (yes, I have instructed my boyfriend this).

My life right now is one big adventure, having to ditch my corporate life in 2015 for a job that would allow me to work from anywhere. I’m thankful I get to travel and see places I never imagined of going and creating bonds and memories to last a lifetime. I got to appreciate what being an outsider feels like and how important it is to make an effort to understand other people’s cultures and adjust to how they live. It hasn’t been easy and there have been ups and downs (LOTS!) but I know I’m where I’m supposed to be.

We’ve called South America our home recently and after living in Santiago, Chile for 8 months, we are now in Medellin, Colombia to complete our stay before we find our permanent home in Europe… after winter of course! Spain or Portugal? Or just stay?

Well, if you’re still reading this, thank you! I hope you stay tuned to my next entries and please drop me a message from time to time.

See you around,

K
